Mobile DogSpaw Waiver

Mobile DogSpaw Client Waiver & Service Agreement

At Mobile DogSpaw, we’re dedicated to your pet’s comfort, safety, and well-being. This agreement ensures every groom is handled with professionalism, transparency, and care. By scheduling or confirming an appointment, you agree to the terms below.

1. Pet Health & Vaccinations

Your pet must be fit and healthy for grooming. Grooming services on elderly, infirm, or medically sensitive pets are performed at the owner’s risk.
All pets are expected to be current on rabies vaccination as required by Ontario law, unless otherwise discussed and documented. You agree to disclose any medical or behavioral conditions, allergies, injuries, or sensitivities before each groom.

2. Emergency Veterinary Care

In the rare event of an emergency, you authorize Mobile DogSpaw to obtain immediate veterinary care from the nearest available veterinarian. You authorize the veterinarian to treat your pet as deemed necessary, and you agree to cover all associated expenses. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact you first.

3. Payment & Service Scope

Payment is due at the time of service. Accepted forms of payment include cash, credit, or debit.
Rates are based on breed, coat condition, temperament, and duration of the groom. Nail trimming and ear cleaning are included when safely possible.
We do not perform anal gland expression, which must be done by a licensed veterinarian.

4. Coat Condition, Matting & Shave-Down Consent

Matted coats can trap moisture, dirt, and debris, leading to skin irritation or hidden sores. Attempting to demat may cause discomfort, stress, or injury.
If your pet’s coat is severely matted, we will choose “humanity over vanity”—performing a shave-down for comfort and safety. You acknowledge that coat removal may dramatically change your pet’s appearance and may expose pre-existing skin issues.
Additional dematting or shave-down fees may apply.

-I authorize Mobile DogSpaw to perform a shave-down if matting prevents a humane groom.
-I understand and accept the risks associated with matting and coat removal.

5. Safety, Behavior & Size Limit

Your pet’s safety—and our groomer’s—is our highest priority.
Aggressive, anxious, or overly stressed pets may require breaks, muzzling, or early termination of service. Additional handling or behavior fees may apply if grooming takes longer than usual.
Mobile DogSpaw reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time for safety reasons.
Our equipment and setup safely accommodate pets up to 120 pounds. Pets exceeding this weight or who cannot safely enter the van may be declined or charged a call-out fee.

6. Parasites, Skunk, & Health Issues

If fleas or ticks are discovered, the grooming session may be stopped and a $35 sanitation fee applied for immediate disinfection.
Skunk and odor treatments are performed on a best-effort basis; multiple sessions may be required and full odor removal is not guaranteed.
Pets showing signs of contagious conditions (kennel cough, ringworm, open wounds, etc.) may be refused for everyone’s safety.

7. Senior & Special-Needs Pets

Elderly or special-needs pets will be groomed with extra care, allowing additional rest time and adjustments as required. However, grooming may be stressful for pets with underlying conditions. You agree that Mobile DogSpaw will not be liable for complications or adverse reactions that arise from pre-existing conditions.

8. Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows

We value your time and ask the same in return.

-≥ 48 hours notice: No fee.
-24 – 48 hours: 50 % of the appointment fee may be charged.
-< 24 hours or no-show: Full appointment fee applies.

If the groomer cannot access your location (locked gate, no parking, etc.), this is treated as a no-show.
In cases of severe weather, road closures, or emergencies, the groomer may reschedule without penalty. We strive to communicate promptly and find a convenient new time.

9. Mobile Service Access Requirements

Please ensure a safe, level parking space and a clear snow free walkway to the van. Driveways must be plowed and accessible in winter.
Clients must be home (or have arranged pet handoff) at the scheduled time. We cannot guarantee exact arrival times due to traffic and pet variations, but we’ll provide estimated time windows and updates.

10. Photos, Marketing & Communication

We love to showcase our work!
-I consent to before-and-after photos or short video clips being used for marketing, website, or social media.
-I consent to receiving texts, calls, or emails regarding scheduling and promotions.

No images will be sold or shared beyond Mobile DogSpaw marketing.

11. Liability & Assumption of Risk

Grooming involves sharp tools, dryers, and animal movement. Although every precaution is taken, injuries such as clipper irritation, nicks, allergic reactions, or stress-related events may occasionally occur.
By signing below, you release and hold harmless Mobile DogSpaw, its owners, employees, and contractors from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from ordinary grooming activities, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Our total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount paid for the grooming service. Mobile DogSpaw will not be responsible for consequential, incidental, or indirect damages of any kind.

12. Terms Updates & Governing Law

Mobile DogSpaw may update these terms periodically. The most current version is always available at www.mobiledogspaw.com.
This agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and any disputes shall be handled within the province.
